Contest for more than dogs and cats

The cutest pets contest is heating up with more entries and some coming from owners of not just cats and dogs but horses too.

The cutest pets contest will continue through Sept. 29 at www.newberryobserver.com

At the end of the voting, which runs from Sept. 17 until Sept. 30, the pet with the most votes will be named as the cutest pet in county and will take the winning donated by sponsor Chapin Pet Lodge.

To enter the online contest simply click on the contest logo on the Newberry Observer website at www.newberryobserver.com and follow the directions.

Entries will be accepted through Saturday, Sept. 29. Voting will continue through Sunday, Sept. 30.

Voting begins on Sept. 17 and winners will be announced the week of Oct. 1.

A LARGE ALLIGATOR SNAPPER TURTLE POSSIBLY 80 YRS. OLD. HE WAS DISCOVERED IN A DRIVEWAY ON SILAS ST. THURSDAY AFTERNOON. AN OFFICER WAS FLAGGED DOWN AND HE SENT FOR A DNR OFFICER. THE DNR OFFICER WAS ABLE TO GET THE TURTLE IN A TUB, AND NOTED THIS WAS THE THIRD ONE THIS YEAR HE HAS PICKED UP.
