NEWBERRY — The Newberry Adult Education Program held its graduation ceremony May 10 at at Newberry High School. There were 48 adults who graduated with either a high school diploma or GED. Thirteen earned a state High School diploma, and 35 passed the GED test.
Three of the graduates — Lucy Caldwell, Brittany Story and Manual Barcelo — served as speakers for the occasion. Recurring topics among the three speakers were: thankful for a second chance to finish high school, never give up, and gratitude to family and friends for their help.
Program director David Green said that all the graduates should take pride in returning to school and earning a high school credential. He encouraged them all to continue learning and to broaden their lives.
