The Friendly, Silverstreet, Bush River, Chappells and Newberry fire departments responded to a house fire around 5 p.m. Tuesday on Highway 34 and 121 between Stoney Battery and Old Ninety Six roads. Details about the fire were not available at press time. Also the Newberry County Rescue Squad and Sheriff’s Office assisted with the call.
