Observer helps businesses get online results
by Cindy Pitts
Senior Reporter

The Newberry Observer rolled out a new idea on Thursday to help local business people become more successful online.

During the two sessions, 16 organizations learned how to promote their businesses through better searchability on Google, Yahoo and Bing search engines. The product, offered exclusively by the Newberry Observer in this area, is called Store Fronts.

It works through five criteria including a dynamic study of key words and domain names and it makes use of the local reputation of the newspaper’s website plus social media to get better results in online searches.

“In today’s society customers can research businesses from anywhere,” said Heartland Publications new media sales manager Scott Ricardi. “We can help you connect with customers no matter where they are through their mobile devices.”

Ricardi says through tools like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and foursquare that businesses can gain customers and revenue.

“Through professional websites businesses can have an attractive, functional site without ever having to hire a web designer,” said Ricardi. “We provide ongoing services and assistance from our team,” he added.

Ricardi said the Observer can provide pre-made template options and drag-and-drop editing in addition to auto-formatting and one-click uploading for videos and photos. Comprehensive website analytics are available whenever the page is logged into as well.

The Observer has other tools that can help get businesses noticed online and make navigating the social media easier.
