The Mid-Carolina Rebels will hit the field in Week Zero for its first game of the season.
On Friday the Rebels will make the over two hour drive to Hartsville to play the 3-A school.
MC coach Louie Alexander says the team is talented, huge and well-coached.
“This will be a really good test for us,” said Alexander.”They are really big.”
Also playing in Week Zero could be a challenging as it does not provide the Rebels an additional week of practice.
But the game should show MC “where we are and what we need to do to get better,” said Alexander.
And the Hartsville team like Mid-Carolina is coming off a trip to the playoffs.
As for the Rebels, Alexander says he is seeing both good and bad things in his team.
The Mid-Carolina team is also making of offensive changes that the player are picking up on.
But the team has lost 10 linebackers in the past two seasons and are looking for players to fill into those spots.
Game time is at 7:30 p.m. in Hartsville.
