NEWBERRY — Idella Widener Hare, 74, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on Aug. 29, 1938, in Whitmire, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Pearl Nix Widener.

She was formerly employed with Greenwood Mills and was a member of First Baptist Church of Whitmire.

She is survived by a son, Curtis McMurtury of Newberry; daughters, Monica (Kenny) Hall of Newberry, Carol (Gene) Hannah of Clinton and Kimberly Hare of Newberry; a sister, Betty Nix of Newberry; grandchildren, Brad Radford, Brittany Brown, Shana Gillion, Brandon Gillion, Tammy Moss and Christopher Cain and many great-grandchildren and a caregiver, Whitney McKee. She was predeceased by a daughter, Terri Gillion.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at First Baptist Church Whitmire by the Rev. Eddie Bledsoe. Burial will follow in Whitmire Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6–7:30 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Whitmire First Baptist Church, 331 Glenn Street, Whitmire, SC 29178.

Active pallbearers will be Michael Hatchell, Chris Radford, Matt Hall, Kevin McMurtury, Eddie Malcom, and J. T. Livingston.
