NEWBERRY — The Newberry Community Choir is presenting its 21st Christmas musical at 8 p.m. Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 and at 3 p.m. Dec. 2 in the Newberry Elementary School auditorium.

“The Hope of Christmas” was created by Phil Barfoot and Dave Williamson and is an exciting celebration of the birth of Christ. This year’s 65-voice choir will be singing traditional Christmas carols, a sleigh-ride medley, and contemporary arrangements of favorite songs of the season. It will incorporate children, the Holy Family, and soloists and narrator that share the special message of hope and joy.

The Community Choir again joins with the sheriff’s department in collecting toys for our area children. There will be a sleigh at the entrance to the auditorium for anyone to place gifts of new or slightly used toys.

The choir operates purely on donations and appreciates the financial support of the community. In turn, they give a large portion back to the elementary school for their ongoing projects.

Donation baskets are placed at the door, but the performances are always free to anyone wanting to attend.
