ANDERSON COUNTY — The Anderson County Beekeepers Association has opened registration for a certified course in beekeeping.
Evening classes will be held at City Hall in Starr beginning on Feb. 14, and will run every Thursday through March. This is the only certified beekeeping course scheduled in the Upstate for 2013, and registration is limited to 25 participants. Cost of the full course is $50.
This certified program will be taught by Dr. Michael Hood of Clemson University. Participants who pass an exam at the conclusion of the course will be certified with the state of South Carolina as a Level I Beekeeper, and will then qualify to move on to Master Beekeeper.
