A wreck in Whitmire closed Highway 121 for much of Thursday night.
The wreck occurred around 9:30 p.m. and the roadway was not cleared until around 5 a.m. Friday.
The truck was carrying various sizes of lumber, according to Whitmire police.
A flatbed truck overturned on Highway 121 at Church Street and spilled its load.
Also around 25 gallons of fuel leaked from the truck.
The driver of the truck was trapped in the vehicle for a while and was taken to Palmetto Richland Hospital.
The Whitmire Police, Fire and Rescue departments, the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office, EMS and Haz-Mat and S.C. Highway Patrol were called to the scene.
