Wightman United Methodist Church in Prosperity is adding a third worship service beginning Sunday, Oct. 28.

The new service, beginning at 10:30 a.m., will feature contemporary worship music and will take place in Wightman’s sanctuary.

With the addition of the new service, Wightman’s schedule for worship will become:

• 9 a.m. – Traditional Worship in the Sanctuary. This service features traditional hymns of the church and a choir.

• 10:30 a.m. – Contemporary Worship in the Sanctuary. This service will include a band and a contemporary atmosphere.

• 11:15 a.m. – Elevate (Contemporary) Worship in the Christian Life Center. This service features a band and a contemporary atmosphere.

“This is more than just the addition of a third worship service,” said Rev. Dean Lollis, pastor of Wightman. “Over the course of the next year, this presents 52 more opportunities to encounter God and participate in a family of faith.”

The new service will launch on the two-year anniversary of Wightman’s second service.

“This is a chance to celebrate a tremendous milestone for Wightman and to look forward to what is happening next,” Lollis said.

In addition, the launch of the new service coincides with the start of the “Fearless” series that looks at the ways God calls the “least expected to do the least expected.”

Wightman United Methodist Church is located at 302 North Main St. in Prosperity.

The church is an active mission congregation and is known throughout the region for its annual Project WARM (Weatherization And Repair Ministry).

Project WARM gives volunteers the chance to participate in ministry by repairing homes in the area.
