The Whitmire Community School environmental science classes have been recycling all year. At the end of January, they had recycled about 1,170 pounds of paper, 510 pounds of plastic bottles, and 45 pounds of aluminum cans. They also have also collected a lot of cardboard boxes, but they have no way to weigh them.
From left to right are students D.J. Norton, Shandi Lindler and Alana Pressley recycling for Dr. Barry Morris’s environmental science class. They go around the school and collect the recyclable material from the classrooms.
