The Whitmire Wolverines will take on McCormick for its homecoming game Friday.

The Wolverines are coming off an 0-3 start, while McCormick is off to a 2-1 start.

But this week could be another challenge for the young Wolverines.

“They are a big, fast, and athletic team and it will be a challenge this week,” said coach Don Addis. “However, our guys are giving us great effort each week and we expect nothing less than that against McCormick. We’ll practice to prepare to win the game.”

Addis says if his team eliminates its mistakes on offense and tackle better on defense, then they will have a chance.

“We have a couple of guys who are banged up and will not play this week.” said Addis.

One of the injured is a starting lineman.

“We’re already thin up front so that will hurt,” he said.

Game time for the Whitmire homecoming game is at 7:30 p.m.
