UPDATED: Suspect sought in Kinards robbery

Newberry County deputies are assisting in the search for a person in an armed robbery in Laurens County.

Laurens County Sheriff’s Office and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division are actively investigating an armed rRobbery that occurred around 10 this morning at Shady Grove Service Center located at 3455 Whitmire Highway in Kinards.

A white male with medium build wearing a gray shirt, tan shorts, brown work boots, and a black ball cap went into the service center and presented a gun in the owners face demanding money and fled on foot.

He had a medium revolver and was wearing a gray shirt with numbers on the front.

The suspect may also have had a brace on his leg.

S.C. Law Enforcement Division is sending bloodhounds to search in the Kinards area to search for the suspect.

The subject is considered armed and dangerous. If anyone has information or has seen this described individual please call 911.
