NEWBERRY — The Newberry County Touchdown Club will hold its annual Clemson verses Carolina Banquet.

During the meeting the club will announce the All-County selections for 2012 while hearing a dynamic speaker in Clemson’s James Trapp.

The event will start at 7:30 p.m. at Community Hall in downtown Newberry.

Trapp played 11 years in the NFL and was a member of the defensive secondary for the 2000 Baltimore Ravens Super Bowl team.

After an illustrious career at Clemson University, where he was inducted in the Hall of Fame, Trapp was drafted by the Los Angeles Raiders in 1993 and played in the organization for six years.

Trapp spent the next four years with the Ravens before spending his final year on the Jaguars roster.

In addition to football, Trapp was named to the ACC 50th Anniversary Indoor and Outdoor teams. Trapp also competed as a member of the 1992 United States Olympic team.

In 1993, Trapp won the U.S. Indoor Championship in the 200m and won the world championship in the 200m.
