Students selected for spelling bee

NEWBERRY — Newberry Academy will have 12 students representing their school at the South Carolina Independent Schools Association (SCISA) Regional Spelling Bee on Jan. 17. The bee will be held at Laurens Academy and students from grades three through eight will be in attendance. The students attending are as follows:

Third graders: Caroline Senn, Kailey Cheeks

Alternate: Alexa Milhollen

Fourth graders: Kade Morris, Payton Gardner

Fifth graders: Amber Beard, Austin DeHart

Alternate: Paige Waldrop

Sixth graders: Matthew Epting, Emma Smith

Alternate: Kathryn Wilbanks

Seventh graders: Ashlin O’Connell, Dillon Morris

Alternate: Matthew Cole

Eighth graders: Tabb French, Leigha Harbert

Alternate: Landen York
