Making a difference doesn’t take a lot of money. In fact, sometimes it doesn’t take any money at all.
As part of the ongoing MADTAG campaign, the Credit Unions of South Carolina want to encourage random acts of kindness by offering 20 $100 mini-grants to South Carolinians to help make an impact in their community.
The mini-grants will be awarded to 20 people who post on the MADTAG Facebook page that most effectively describe how they would use the $100 mini-grant to make the most impact.
Here’s how it works:
1. Between now and July 27, post on the MADTAG Facebook page how you would use $100 to Make a Difference in your community. The post must include specifics on how the $100 would be used aswell as the city/town you live in.
2. A total of 20 posts will be chosen by representatives from the Credit Unions of South Carolina, and mini-grant award winners will be announced no later than Tuesday July 31.
3. Mini-grant award winners will be directed to a participating credit union in their community to collect the $100 mini-grant.
4. All winners of the mini-grant will be asked to document via photo, video, and social media how they have used the $100 to make a difference.
The Mini-Grants are a follow-up to the Great Gas Giveaway earlier in 2012 when the Credit Unions of South Carolina offered several hundred drivers free gas at gas stations around South Carolina.
Organized in 1934, the non-profit South Carolina Credit Union League was established by credit union leaders who believed in the cooperative spirit and the common goal of credit union growth.
Today, the League and its affiliates help credit unions improve products, service delivery, and employee education. The League is also a focal point of credit unions’ collective political voice.
