The Little Mountain Reunion Association may not have a reunion this year but they will have another event.
On Wednesday night, the association set a date for a fundraiser to help out some local organizations in town since the cancellation of the reunion did affect them financially.
The event is set for Nov. 3 and will be on private property in the lot next to the Masonic Lodge in Little Mountain.
While the date is set, there are still details to be worked out including food and a band.
Woody Kaminer with the association says they set the date because it seemed to be an open date and worked around the football schedules.
While the event will be held on private property, Kaminer says they will still have the proper coverage including an alcohol license and insurance to protect them just in case something were to happen.
The fundraiser will help out the local Ruritan club, rescue squad and fire department, Masonic Lodge and the association itself. This event is for the above organizations and the association wanted to do it to help them out. They will also help out with whatever they can do to make it a success.
As for the music, Kaminer says that hopefully the Third Generation Band will perform and there will be alcohol served.
Freedom of Information news
The association did receive the FOI requests from the Town of Little Mountain in a timely manner, Kaminer says, who adds that they received it at the very end of the 15 working day allowance.
However, Kaminer says that the town clerk Cindy Farr had it well-organized and it was very well put together for the association members to look through.
The association members received six folders worth of information including town minutes and other documents they had requested. The folder were doled out to members who will look through it and then report at a meeting on July 30 about what they have read.
Next meeting
The reunion association meeting is always held the third Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the fire and rescue squad building in town and Kaminer welcomes all to the meeting.
