The Little Mountain Reunion Association is steadily perusing the Freedom of Information Act documents that the Town of Little Mountain has given them.
While the association still has documents to thumb through, they do believe that they have been discriminated against for unknown reasons.
They have only been in touch with lawyers for legal counsel only to better understand the documents, according the association’s member Mike Remion.
Remion states that they finally received a copy of a contract necessary to rent out Reunion Park to see what would be in store in the future.
The contract is eight pages long, states Remion, who adds that he is glad the association did cancel the reunion that would have been held this past August because of many open ended questions.
Remion says that many questions are brought up and the contract does not exempt anyone from using the park.
One thing Remion points out that is that a $1 million liability policy is necessary for any organization to use, whether that’s a church, non-profit or any other group who wishes to use it.
Remion wonders what constitutes a business and adds that even for a church to host an event at the park they would have to have a business license and are subject to fees.
Of course, there are alcohol clauses which would forbid the use of alcohol.
Remion says that he doesn’t foresee how some group would want to use the park after reading through the contract.
One particular question that Remion raises and has yet to receive an answer about is regarding the documentation about ownership of the park.
More information is still to be processed and this is an ongoing situation.
