PENDLETON — The Mid-Carolina Rebels will travel to the northern parts of the county Friday to take on the Pendleton Bulldogs in the first round of play off action.

The Pendleton team is 7-3 compared to the Rebels who are 2-8.

Mid-Carolina coach Louie Alexander says the Bulldogs have a tremendous running back.

“They play hard every play,” said Alexander. “We have our work cut out for us.”

Alexander says the Rebels had a good practice Monday, coming off the Friday loss to rival Newberry.

But the team has its health concerns and is working this week to get healthy.

The team had some contact on Tuesday but will not the rest of the week.

Rebel players will be working on their mental strength this week.

“We have to be confident,” said Alexander. “We have a couple of days to prepare to knock them off.”

Alexander says said all season that he wanted his young team to improve with each game and he and fans are hoping their confidence and improvement will show on Friday night.

The winner of the game will move on to face Cheraw next week.
