The Town of Prosperity swore in a new Prosperity police captain, Jimmy Richardson, at Tuesday’s regular town council meeting. Richardson comes with 23 years probation experience to the town and Mayor Derek Underwood said, “We are proud to have you as a member of the Prosperity Police Department.” With the addition of Richardson, the Prosperity Police Department now has three full time officers, a couple of reserve officers and the Newberry County Sheriff deputies help out as needed.
