Last week Newberry defeated Mid-Carolina in middle school football.
The seventh grade team won 36-26 and the eighth grade team for Newberry won 16-0
In the seventh grade game Reginal Gallman scored two touchdowns for Mid-Carolina on a 60 yard run and an 82 yard kickoff return.
Jalen Bates Caldwell scored a touchdown on a 82 yard reception from Cade Ruff and De Henley scored an 80 yard kickoff return touchdown for MC.
For Newberry Admir Adams scored most of the touchdowns for Newberry but Tyriq Goodman got an interception for a two point conversion and Alec Blackmond got a TD.
In the eighth grade game Tyran Graham threw to Derrick Scurry for a touchdown and then Graham scored on a quarterback keeper.
