NEWBERRY — A Montessori interest meeting for Newberry Elementary zoned students is set for 6 p.m. Feb. 13 at Newberry Elementary’s auditorium.
The Montessori program in Newberry County serves students age 3 through grade five. If your child will be at least 3 by Sept. 1 and is zoned for Newberry Elementary School, come to the Montessori parent interest meeting. Learn more about the Montessori program, take a tour of a Montessori classroom, and have an opportunity to speak with the Montessori teachers.
Montessori Education is a hands-on discovery approach to teaching and learning that places emphasis on the individual progress and development of each child. Children of different ages share the same classes and are encouraged to collaborate and help one another.
The premise of Montessori Education is to provide a stimulating, child oriented environment in which children can explore, touch, and learn without fear while working at his/her own pace.
