CHARLESTON — Mary Lu Piersol, 85, of Charleston, widow of Harold George Piersol, entered into eternal rest Friday, Jan. 25, 2013.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, at 2 p.m. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens . The family will receive friends Monday in Stuhr’s West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, Charleston, from 5 until 7 p.m .
Mary Lu was born Nov. 22, 1927, in Hardin County, Ohio, daughter of Albert Dewey Stokes and Martha Curtis Stokes.
She was a homemaker. Mary Lu was a member of the Charleston Wayfarer’s Camping Club as she enjoyed camping very much. She was a former Ward Secretary at Roper Hospital. She was a school crossing guard for Charleston County and enjoyed many years of singing in the St. Marks United Methodist Church Choir.
She is survived by Richard Allen Piersol ; Jackie P. Brinson (Rocky) both of Moncks Corner, H. George Piersol II (Jan) of Silverstreet, Phyllis P. Neel (Clark) of Newberry, Philip Byron Piersol (Lori) of Kernersville, N.C., and nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mary Lu was predeceased by a grandson R.C. Neel V.
