NEWBERRY — Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Louise Alston Caldwell, age 66, will be conducted on Sunday, March 3, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Little River Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Caldwell passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at Hospice of Laurens County Hospice House. Born in Newberry County, she was the daughter of Mrs. Emma Toland Alston and the late James Alston. She was a member of Little River Baptist Church and an associate member of St. Mary’s A.M.E. Church. Mrs. Caldwell was a graduate of Gallman High School class of 1968.

Surviving are her husband, James Caldwell; mother, Mrs. Emma Alston; six sisters, Mrs. Lois (A. P.) Miller of Newberry; Mrs. Hazel Sturkey of Clinton; Mrs. Quester West of Baton Rouge, La.; Mrs. Dorothy (Arthur) Holmes of Columbia; Mrs. Emma (Gene) Williams and Mrs. Linda Davis of Newberry; three brothers, Rev. James (Eleanor) Alston, Edward Alston and David (Margaret) Alston all of Newberry; adopted sister, Mrs. Jessie Manly of Columbia; reared in the home as a son, Aubrey Alston; godson and devoted nephew, Trent Davis and godson, Travis Davis of Newberry; devoted niece, Ms. Andrena Williams of Newberry; other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at 1125 Marion St., Newberry, SC.
