A man was sentenced to six years in prison for a crime he committed shortly after getting out of jail on a youthful offender sentence.
Ryan Phillip Connelly, 21, of Saint George, pleaded guilty to breaking into a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, financial transaction card fraud and was sentenced to five years in prison concurrently on each charge.
He was also sentenced to six years in prison for larceny.
While serving a youthful offender sentence Connelly met his co-defendant in the case and within a few weeks of getting out of jail committed the crimes.
In other cases heard in general sessions court the week of June 25:
• Kimberly Allison Hare, 35, of Jones Drive, Newberry, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to six months in jail; suspended to one year probation.
• Alberto Gonzales, 37, of Oak Hall, Newberry, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine and was sentenced to 18 months in prison; suspended to 90 days in jail and 15 months probation.
He also pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and was sentenced to 18 months in prison and a fine of $5,000; suspended to 90 days in jail, 18 months probation and a fine of $2,500.
• Travis Golston, 31, of Columbia, pleaded guilty to possession of a stolen vehicle and was sentenced to time served.
• Earique James Cruz, 16, of 509 Foxbriar Road, Newberry, pleaded guilty to burglary and was sentenced to a term not to exceed four years under the youthful offender act; suspended to two years probation.
• Marquevius Javell Brown, 21, of 613 Main St., Newberry, pleaded guilty to housebreaking and was sentenced to a term not to exceed five years under the youthful offender act; suspended to two years probation.
• Macy Dylan Nichols, 33, of 2031 Shell St., Newberry, pleaded guilty to shoplifting and was sentenced to six months in prison.
Nichols also pleaded guilty to burglary and was sentenced to five years in prison; suspended to 18 months in prison and three years probation.
He also was sentenced to time served for a guilty plea of petit larceny.
• Deon Semaj Williams, 20,of 283 Kinard Road, Newberry, pleaded guilty to possession of crack cocaine and was sentenced to two years in prison; suspended to time served and 18 months probation.
•Tamel Jutell Mack, 22, of Titas Road, Whitmire, pleaded guilty to possession of crack cocaine and was sentenced to two years in prison; suspended to 18 months probation.
• Franklin Dell Hayes, 26, of 2308 Mayes Ave., Newberry, pleaded guilty to throwing body fluids by a prisoner and was sentenced to two years in prison.
Hayes also pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to a year in prison.
• Sammy Junior Tribble III, 27, of 144 Dover Lane, Newberry, pleaded guilty to four counts of burglary and was sentenced to 10 years in prison; suspended to two years in prison and three years probation.
• Henry Todd Abrams, 39, of 2423 Eleanor St., Newberry, pleaded guilty to shoplifting and was sentenced to a year in prison.
• Timothy Dale Green Jr., 31, of 118 Tillman Circle, Joanna, pleaded guilty to shoplifting and was sentenced to six months in prison.
• Paresh Kumar Kentilal Patel, of Charlotte, N.C., pleaded guilty to breach of trust and was sentenced to seven days in jail.
• William David Patrick Gray, 26, 2015 Wheeland Road, Little Mountain, pleaded guilty to petit larceny and was sentenced to three years; suspended to two years probation.
Gray also pleaded guilty to burglary and was sentenced to three years; suspended to two years probation.
• William David Hendrix, 20, of 926 Lindsay Circle, Newberry, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to six months in prison; suspended to a year probation.
Hendrix also pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana and was sentenced to six months in prison; suspended to a year probation.
• Keisha Lotaya Robertson, 34,of 4522 Deadfall Road, Newberry, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and was sentenced to a year in prison and a fine of $2,100; suspended to five days in jail and a fine of $1,100.
• William Ferguson Sachs, 29, of Pelion, pleaded guilty to driving under suspension and was sentenced to 80 days in jail and a fine of $1,000.
• Cersario Arrayo-Alvarez, 20, of 2810 Clyde Ave., Newberry, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine and was sentenced to 12 months probation.
Michael Nelson, 41, of Mount Bethel-Garmany Road, Newberry, pleaded guilty to shoplifting and was sentenced to 15 months.
Marques Delafayett Walker, 30, of Langford Street, Newberry, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine and was sentenced to 12 months probation.
