Amy Louise Long and Robert Edward Ruple Jr. were united in marriage June 18, 2011, at Silverstreet Lutheran Church. The 5 p.m. ceremony was officiated by the Rev. J. Harry Crout.

The bride is the daughter of Eddy and Jessica Long of Silverstreet. Her paternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Bill (Frances) Long. The maternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Jesse W. (Mildred) Senn. Both sets of grandparents were from Silverstreet. Amy is a graduate of Newberry Academy and a 2008 graduate of Columbia College where she earned a B.A. degree in dance. She is currently employed at Wray Automotive in the accounting department.

The groom is the son of Eddie and Lucy Ruple of West Columbia. His paternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. John H. (Mattie) Ruple Sr. of St. George. His maternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Melvin (Bernice) Strom of McCormick. Robbie is a graduate of Airport High School and is currently employed at Wray Automotive in the sales and leasing department.

The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a taffeta strapless gown with a ballroom skirt featuring pick-ups and a tightly fitted bodice. The bodice and eight-inch lace bordering the hem was adorned with sequins. The gown had a five-foot train. She carried an antique handkerchief around the base of her bouquet which had belonged to her grandmother, Mildren Senn.

The matron of honor was Mrs. Virginia Rumschik and bridesmaids were Mrs. Amber Turner, Ms. Amy Sugibayashi, Ms. Summer Ruple and Ms. Holly Workman. The wedding guests were greeted by Ms. Laura Lundeen.

The best man was Mr. James Ammer and groomsmen were Mr. Corey Brazell, Mr. Jesse Sturgess, Mr. Kevin Cinamon and Lance Cpl. Joseph Ruple.

The music was provided by Mrs. Martha Hill, organist; Mrs. Mary Ann Hayes, pianist and soloist; and Mrs. Mary Willingham, soloist.

A reception immediately followed the wedding ceremony at the Firehouse Conference Center in Newberry. The reception greeters were Mr. and Mrs. Marshall (Christie) Brown.

After a honeymoon trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple will reside in West Columbia.
