The Newberry Jaycees attended the quarterly South Carolina Jaycee meeting in Clemson, July 19 and 20.

The local Jaycees proudly represented Newberry County ranking number one among Jaycee chapters in the state just ahead of Rock Hill and West Columbia.

The Local chapter also ranks number five in the United States.

Member Amber Kneece received outstanding local vice president and project guide winner for her Huntin’ and Fishin’ for the Survivors project.

Members Chris Creel and Carey Sligh won Outstanding Rookie and Outstanding Jaycee respectively.

President Tabitha Shaw was awarded Outstanding local President, Outstanding executive team member and was inducted into the S.C. Jaycees Palmetto Corps honors group.

The chapter won the most spirited Chapter award at the convention.

The Newberry Jaycees are excited to represent and support community needs in our Newberry area.

Please contact Shaw if you would like to join the outstanding young leaders in our community.
