Mr. and Mrs. Earl Leitzsey of Newberry are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Melissa Gayle Leitzsey, to James Ryan “J.R.” Charles, of Douglas, Ga., on Saturday, April 27, 2013.
Melissa is a 2007 graduate of the University of South Carolina Aiken with a Bachelor of Arts in communications. She is the president of the White County Chamber of Commerce in Cleveland, Ga.
J.R. is the son of LaDonna Ratcliff. He is a 2005 graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism. He is the director of economic development for the Habersham County Board of Commissioners in Clarkesville, Ga.
The couple is planning their spring wedding at Wiles Chapel of Newberry College in Newberry. A reception will follow the ceremony.
