Lady Eagles get a win

The Newberry Academy Lady Eagles volleyball team took a straight-set win at home against region foe Laurens Academy on Tuesday.

The first set was won by a score of 25–20, and the second by a score of 25–11. The final set went to Newberry as well, 25–21.

For the match, Amanda Crayne stood out with 18 points, six aces and two kills.

Harley Johnson had 15 points, six kills and three assists. Kaitlyn Nobles finished with seven points, three aces and five kills. Andie Getz had eight points, one ace, five kills and a block.

The Lady Eagles libero, Carman Franklin, had a kill and seven digs.

This was a much needed region win as the season nears the mid-way point.

The team now stands at 5–5 overall and 2–4 in the region.

Their next match is next Monday at Greenwood Christian.
