PROSPERITY — Kenneth Young Hamm, 71, widower of Linda Alexander Hamm, died Monday, March 4, 2013, at his residence.

Born on Jan. 1, 1942, in Newberry, he was the son of the late H. Y. and Dovie Evans Hamm. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Vietnam veteran, a retired truck driver and a member of Macedonia Lutheran Church.

Mr. Hamm is survived by daughters, Kendra Cook of Saluda, Dovie (Dave) Franklin of Prosperity and Kyndy (Chad) Morris of Newberry; grandchildren, Kalan Cook, Kalab Cook, Kenkade Morris, Gunnar Franklin and Alli Morris.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Rosemont Cemetery by the Rev. Randall Derrick. The family will be at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Franklin, 326 Big Creek Road, Prosperity where they will receive friends Wednesday from 6–8 p.m. Memorials may be made to Macedonia Lutheran Church, 49 Macedonia Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.

Active pallbearers will be John Sylva, Harold Fulmer, Kenny Fulmer, Rhett Fellers, Alan Longshore and Craig Hipp.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Wilson, Ed Elston, Jerry Schaadt, friends from “The Station II”, Jody Garmon, RN and Martha McGaughey both staff of Tidewater Hospice.
