NEWBERRY — Katherine Piester Wicker, widow of Hugh Thaddeus Wicker, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Newberry, a daughter of the late Willie B. and Mable Moore Piester. Mrs. Wicker was a member of Morris Chapel Southern Methodist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Vickie (Russell) Warren of Newberry; a sister, Virginia Mayer of Pomaria; a brother, Barney Piester of Newberry and grandchildren, Whitney Warren, Zachary Warren and Johnny Wicker. Mrs. Wicker was predeceased by a son, Thad B. Wicker.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Steven Reynolds. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Morris Chapel Southern Methodist Church, 1189 New Hope Road, Pomaria, SC 29126.

Active pallbearers will be Mark Livingston, Jonas Piester, Michael Stribble, Chris Traylor, Willie Traylor and Rodney Wicker.
