PROSPERITY —Ingrid Maxwell Carr, 68, of 197 Harbor View Dr. Prosperity, SC, died Saturday, December 22, 2012, at her residence.

Mrs. Carr was born on Sept. 12, 1944 in Freiburg/Breisgau, Germany, a daughter of the late Wilhelm Eugen and Else Wellenreuther Willig.

She was a retired systems analyst for the State of S.C and was a very active member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and the Thomas Suber Circle of the WELCA. Mrs. Carr loved singing and was an active participant with the Arpad Darazs Singers and the Newberry Community Choir She volunteered her time at Gallman Elementary School and as an Ombudsman with the Friendly Visitor Program at local nursing homes.

She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Byron Carr of the home; daughters, Patti (Andy) McConnell of Jenison, Mich., and Debbi Minton of Lexington; stepdaughter DebiLynn Carr of Arlington, Va.; sons Bill Maxwell of Monroe, La., Robert (Shannon) Maxwell of Lexington; stepson, Byron Carr Jr. of Florence; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Bill Maxwell.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jason Schafer. Interment will be at 4 p.m.Thursday at the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Columbia.
