The Newberry County Humane Society presented three books to the Newberry County Library. “Chase Gets a Medal” is written by Peter Buttress of Lexington and tells the story of how his dog, Chase, became a certified therapy dog. The book is geared to second graders and was received by the children’s department of the library. One of the books will also go to the Whitmire library. Chase also participates in the reading program at Pomaria-Garmany school. Pictured are Lorraine Mock, president of the humane society, Jessica Toland, children’s librarian and Stephanie Bilger, treasurer of the humane society.
