NEWBERRY — Master Sgt. Jackie Holmes was awarded a Meritorious Service Medal on Oct. 14 for her dedication and commitment to her country at Fort Jackson.
In addition to Holmes serving in the U.S. Army, she is also a kindergarten teacher at Newberry Elementary School.
She received the Meritorious Service Medal while serving as the Chief Instructor/Writer of the Seventh Battalion, 108th Regiment, Fourth Brigade, 94th Division (force sustainment).
Holmes’ outstanding professionalism, commitment, and selfless dedication were instrumental to the battalion’s continued high strength in certified instructors, and top quality training of more than 5,000 soldiers. Her dedicated and selfless service, commitment to excellence, and superior leadership reflects great credit upon herself, the 94th Division (force sustainment) and the U.S. Army.
The period of the medal was from Nov. 1, 2008 to May 8, 2012.
