The 36 Golden Agers of Colony were honored at the homecoming service on July 29. Pastor Jerry L. Trantham presided and the Rev. Ernie Worman, chaplain and director of church relations at Newberry College delivers the homecoming sermon. In the first row, Elizabeth “Betty” Fulmer, Wendell Bedenbaugh, J.C. Lester and Mary Elizabeth “Betty” MacDonald; second row, James “Jimmie” E. Sligh Jr., Adella B. Summer, Lola R. Lowe, Roxanne L. Fulmer, Bernice C. Shealy and Charles Dominick; third row, Robert C. Fulmer, Bettye H. Fulmer, Bobbie N. Smith, Shelby K. Hartle and Peggy N. Morris; fourth row, Trantham, Lee Donald “Don” Chappell, Jerry Nichols, George Black, Jackie “Jack” Brice Shealy, Paul Franklin and Worman. The Golden Agers who have entered the church triumphant since the 2011 homecoming service were remembered with love. They are Lamar Hazel, Mattie Kneece, James Hugh Minick and Robert H. Shealy.
