Mr. and Mrs. Elon Wesley Eargle celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Aug. 3, 2012.
They were married at Mt. Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Prosperity where they made their home in Prosperity and raised their family there.
Elon is a veteran of World War II and retired from Lindsay Furniture Company in Newberry.
Floy retired from Newberry County Health Department where she was nursing supervisor.
Since retirement they have enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Elon and Floy are devoted to their church and to their family.
They have a daughter, Elona Rhame, of Irmo and two sons, Gordon (Jackie) Eargle and Neal (Kathey) Eargle, both of Prosperity.
They have seven grandchildren: Dr. Ellen Rhame and Robert Rhame of Charleston, Jaclyn (Russel) Sease of Greenville, and Eric Eargle, Reese Eargle, Seth Eargle, and Kallie Eargle all of Prosperity.
They have twin great grandsons, Jackson Sease and Elon Sease of Greenville.
On their 50th anniversary they celebrated with family and friends with a reception at Mt. Pilgrim Lutheran Church.
