The Bulldogs cheerleaders showed young girls the basics of cheerleading camp last week.

The cheerleading kiddie camp was held Tuesday throught Thursday for girls between the ages of 4 and 12.

Amidst the construction going on outside, Newberry High and young cheerleaders yelled enthusiasm at the top of their lungs while demonstrating cheers, chants and dances.

The campers were divided into three different age groups and while this camp was a bit smaller than last year with 25 young girls, they got more one-on-one learning time, according to the junior varsity cheer coach Kristina Norris.

Along with learning different cheers and dances, the young girls also made a craft each day and will be able to cheer at one of Newberry High’s home football games this year. Last year, the kiddie campers cheered at the Pink Out game.

The girls also showed off their skills Thursday to parents during a show.
