SALUDA — A search is on for a person who fell out of a boat Sunday on the Little Saluda River.
The Newberry County Dive Team along with the S.C. Department of Natural Resources and the Saluda County Sheriff’s Office were out on the river at press time looking for the boater.
Newberry County Dive Team Chief Glenn Hamm says a witness saw the person fall out of the boat on Sunday.
On Sunday afternoon the rescue efforts lasted until dark.
Hamm said that divers will work in a recovery mode Monday at the location off Highway 391.
The drowning is on the Newberry and Saluda county line and is on the Saluda side of the shore.
