Biker group awards scholarships

The Full Blooded Riders Motorcycle group presented Shermeese DeWalt with one of two scholarships at their family and friends day event on Aug. 10. DeWalt is a 2012 graduate of Newberry High and is currently attending Claflin University. Scholarships are given to members children. From left to right are Jamesina Ruff, DeWalt, Chris Ruff and Kenny Bates, president. The group is a group of friends who enjoy riding motorcycles and helping out the community.

Whitmire High 2012 graduate Alana Pitts received one of two scholarships from the Full Blooded Riders Motorcycle group on Aug. 10 at the group’s family and friends day event. Pitts is currently attending University of South Carolina, Aiken. From left to right are Kenny Bates, president; Pitts and James Sheppard, vice president. The event was held at the Disabilities and Special Needs picnic area and this is the third annual event. The group started as a group of friends who enjoyed riding motorcycles and now they have events and help out the children in the community.
