After its meager start in 2009, this year’s Newberry Agricultural Expo is expected to be bigger and better.
The expo will kick off on Sept. 27 at 5 p.m. and continue through Sept. 29.
During the three day event there will be fun, food, animals, exhibits, rides, rodeos, ag Olympics and entertainment.
On Thursday, Sept. 27, the gates will open at 4 p.m. with exhibits open as well as a dairy show.
On Friday, Sept. 28 the gates will open at 4 p.m. and there will be rides, a beef show and a rodeo.
The gates will open at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29 with a parade, goat show, rides, entrainment, tractor parade and rodeos.
While the festival is still a couple months away, the committee is asking locals to think about being vendors, setting up booths and entering the commodities and beauty contest.

The items will be accepted from all ages.
Entries are to be turned in at the Clemson Extension Office, which could be in the old Wal-Mart shopping center by then, or to the Newberry County Career Center on Sept. 24 or 25 from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m.
The winners will get bragging rights in the county and a ribbon.
