My name is Barbara McGuire. I am looking for anyone who has any old photos of my family in the Pomaria or surrounding areas. Photocopies would be great. I was in Newberry and in Pomaria the first week in May of this year. I discovered that I am a relative of John Cannon of the Dutch chapter.
Margaret Eve Cannon was my great-great-great-grandmother, and Thomas H. Alewine was my great-great-grandfather. I was fortunate to find their graves in Pomaria.
I am related to almost every family in that area including the Cromers. Thomas H. Alewine’s second wife was a Cromer. Ann Cornelia Alewine was my great-grandmother. She was the daughter of Margaret Eve Cannon and Thomas H. Alewine.
So if anyone has any photos of Thomas or Ann or Margaret or any stories about them, or any other old family photos, I would greatly appreciate it.
I never thought that I would get the chance to go to the birthplace of my great-grandmother.
