Since June is Adopt A Shelter Cat Month (every month should be Adopt A Shelter Cat month), I hope you will consider finding your next best friend at your local animal shelter. So many cats and kittens at animal shelters are “owner surrenders,” and the poor pets don’t understand why they are there.

They had a good home, a safe home (at least “they” thought so) and now they are in this strange and sometimes scary place, waiting for an occasional pet and some soft words. Oh they get fed and fresh water and clean litter, but it’s not the same as being in your own “home.” It’s not the same without a soft lap to lay on or a fuzzy toy to play with while running around happily in your happy environment.

Please take the time to visit the shelter and see these sweet, furry felines. The Newberry County Animal Shelter is located at 240 Public Works Drive (S.C. 34), Newberry and is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
