Americans are outraged by Donald Trump, Jr.’s meeting with a Russian attorney in June, 2016! This is the most damaging cover-up to-date proving the Trump campaign colluded directly with President Putin himself to win the election! Though the meeting lasted only minutes, the meeting itself proves COLLUSION beyond any doubt!!!
Rob Goldstone, identified by the New York Times as “a British-born former tabloid reporter and entertainment publicist,” made initial contact with Don Jr. June 3, 2016, via email. (You can read the emails on NYT website: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2017/07/11/us/politics/donald-trump-jr-email-text.html?_r=0)
NYT identifies Emin Agalarov, son of Aras Agalarov, as “one of Russia’s biggest pop music stars” and mutual friend of Don Jr. and Rob Goldstone. The pertinent point of Goldstone’s initial email:
“Emin just called and asked me to contact you with something very interesting.
The Crown prosecutor of Russia met with his father Aras this morning and in their meeting offered to provide the Trump campaign with some official documents and information that would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father.”
Don Jr. replies, “…if it’s what you say I love it especially later in the summer. Could we do a call first thing next week when I am back?”
Don Jr. and Goldstone exchange a few brief logistical emails before settling on time and place of meeting Thursday June 9, 2016, in Don Jr.’s offices.
Don Jr. tweeted a brief explanation of the scandal on July 11, 2017: “The information they suggested they had about Hillary Clinton I thought was Political Opposition Research. I first wanted to just have a phone call but when that didn’t work out, they said the woman would be in New York and asked if I would meet. I decided to take the meeting.”
OUTRAGEOUS!!! SCANDALOUS!!! TREASONOUS!!!
Don Jr. concluded his tweet: “The woman, as she has said publicly, was not a government official. And, as we have said, she had no information to provide and wanted to talk about adoption policy and the Magnitsky Act.” He concluded, “As Rob Goldstone said just today in the press, the entire meeting was ‘the most inane nonsense l ever heard. And I was actually agitated by it.’”
As scandalous as this is, it still does not rise to the level of a U.S. President telling a Russian President he would be more “flexible” to make deals after the election. Nor does it rise to the level of approving a deal to give Russia 20 percent of America’s uranium. NYT article https://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/24/us/cash-flowed-to-clinton-foundation-as-russians-pressed-for-control-of-uranium-company.html documents the quid pro quo of the uranium deal:
“As the Russians gradually assumed control of Uranium One (company making the deal) in three separate transactions from 2009 to 2013, Canadian records show, a flow of cash made its way to the Clinton Foundation. Uranium One’s chairman used his family foundation to make four donations totaling $2.35 million. Those contributions were not publicly disclosed by the Clintons, despite an agreement Mrs. Clinton had struck with the Obama White House to publicly identify all donors.”
Russians hacked the DNC. The DNC will not release their servers to the FBI or any other investigation of Russian interference in the election. Hillary sent and received highly classified emails (at the time of transmission) on her own private, unsecured server using multiple unsecured and unauthorized cell phones.
Yes, I can see how Don Jr.’s brief meeting “Trumps” all other interactions between Russia and Obama, Clintons, and the DNC.
