Here we go again with another healthcare bill, which has very little to do with healthcare and a lot to do with government controlled health insurance. Why are we doing this again? Because everybody agrees Obamacare is imploding. Democrats don’t want Republicans to fix it. Republicans want credit for their own version of government controlled and regulated health insurance.

Why is the government obsessed with healthcare and health insurance? Because the healthcare and health insurance industries have made HUGE profits! That’s just not right! All of these big corporations and CEOs make hundreds of billions of dollars of profit. They think they’re so much better than the rest of us! They don’t deserve all that money when the poorest among us are suffering. (Like Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, or Hillary Clinton can relate to the poorest among us.)

Jesus said we would always have the poor among us. From this we can also infer we will always have the rich and powerful among us, too. See, there’s the rub!

Once upon a time a couple of men decided we didn’t always have to have the poor among us, but that we could come up with a system in which all are equal. Of course, the only way to make sure everybody was equal in every way was to have an omnipotent governing authority that enforced the rules that make everybody equal. Would the governors of such a system be equal with everybody else? Only in rhetoric.

In 1848 Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels wrote and published “The Communist Manifesto.” Remember the statement, “It’s about the economy, stupid!” It’s always been about the economy. He who rules the economy…rules everything. So, Marx and Engels devised a plan in which the government enforced equality over all those under its authority.

Coincidentally (?) revolutions began spreading across Europe when political groups began revolting against European monarchies. The Revolutions of 1848 failed and more repressive governments assumed power.

At the same time the democratic Republic of America, aka United States of America, was wrestling with issues of freedom. Our capitalist economy was relatively good (compared with Europe). We fought a war over freedom for everyone. Back then everybody valued individual freedom enough to fight for it.

Fast forward to the Russian revolution in 1917 when Bolsheviks overthrew the czar and established the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics in 1922. Fast forward again to 1933 when Germany was taken over by the National Socialist German Workers’ Party. You might also remember when Mao Tse-tung organized and led the People’s Republic of China. All of these promised equality.

America was founded on liberty for all, not equality for all. Yes, equal opportunities, but not guaranteed equal results. Equality and individual liberty are counter to one another. More equality means fewer individual freedoms. More individual freedom means less equality. If we were all truly equal, I would have played quarterback for the Green Bay Packers.

All the politicians and bureaucrats in Washington believe government can regulate one-fifth of the American economy (it’s always about the economy), guarantee equal healthcare for everyone living in America, and everyone will live happily ever after.

In the meantime, Democrats continue to win all those participation trophies and feverishly attack all things Trump in concert with media campaigns by CNN, Washington Post, and New York Times. That’s all they’ve got….
