Emily Ruth Huggins and David Zade Liptak both of Newberry, SC were married Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Central United Methodist Church in Newberry. The Reverend Joseph Robert Huggins, father of the bride, and The Reverend Thomas Clifton Byrd, friend of the bride and groom, officiated the five o’clock wedding. A reception followed at The Country Club of Newberry.
The wedding music was provided by Mr. Huger Caughman, Jr., organist and Ms. Kristin Caughman, vocalist.
The bride is the daughter of The Reverend and Mrs. Joseph Robert Huggins of Sumter, SC. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Catherine Everett Cowan of Greenwood, SC and the late Mr. Earl Cowan and Mrs. Mae Witt Huggins of Johnsonville, SC and the late Mr. Ottis G. Huggins and the late Mr. Joseph T. Huggins.
She is a graduate of Newberry College and is employed by the School District of Newberry County.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Michael Liptak of Newberry, SC. He is the grandson of Mr. David Leo Liptak of Dayton, OH and the late Mrs. Phyllis Liptak and the late Mr. and Mrs. Zade Rash of Williamston, SC.
He attended Piedmont Technical College and is employed by Love Chevrolet in Irmo, SC.
Matrons of Honor were Mrs. Mary Catherine Traywick and Mrs. Rebecca Edens, sisters of the bride. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Christina Hardeman, sister of the groom, Ms. Kristin Caughman, Mrs. Maghan Cockrell, Ms. Ashlie Harrell, Mrs. Christi Moore, all friends of the bride.
Miss Cate Traywick and Miss Helen Traywick, nieces of the bride, were flower girls.
Best Men were Mr. Joseph Liptak, brother of the groom and Mr. James Liptak, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Mr. Mickey Armstrong, Mr. Matthew Coffey, Mr. Nicholas Grosshuesch, Mr. Neil Olson, Mr. Todd Propes, all friends of the groom.
Master Joe Edens, nephew of the bride, and Master James Liptak, son of the groom, were ring bearers.
Following a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple will reside in Newberry, SC.
