NEWBERRY — The Newberry men’s soccer team was picked to finish 11th in the South Atlantic Conference when the preseason polls were released.
The Wolves received 19 points in the standings and were voted above Brevard (16 points) and behind Tusculum (42 points).
Newberry is coming off a season in which they finished 1-16-1 during the regular season with seven of the losses coming by just one goal.
The team has promise as they return a good portion of last year’s squad including leading goal scorer Graham Jermstad, who scored four goals to go along with two assists. Jermstad also lead the team in points followed by fellow returner Jalin Butler, who had two goals and three assists.
