ROCK HILL — Newberry women’s basketball junior Haylee Lepaio has been named to the All-South Atlantic Conference First Team, while senior Tasia Holdorf has earned All-SAC Second Team recognition, the conference office announced Wednesday.
The selection of Lepaio marks her second year on the All-SAC First Team and third all-conference honor after being named to the second team as a freshman.
This is Holdorf’s first All-SAC honor. In earning honors for the 2013-14 season, Holdorf and Lepaio represent the second straight year that two Newberry players have received postseason honors from the conference.
Lepaio led the SAC in scoring at 19.2 points per game - aided by 10 outings with at least 20 points - and ranked second in rebounding average at 10.7. The junior recorded 24 double-digit scoring efforts and 13 double-doubles during the regular season. Lepaio was twice named SAC Player of the Week, including earning the honor after scoring 40 points in Newberry’s win over Queens. Lepaio wrapped up the regular season with 22 rebounds in the Wolves’ season finale against Carson-Newman.
Holdorf finished the regular season seventh in the SAC in scoring at 15.3 points per game. The senior also recorded 23 double-digit scoring games and posted at least 20 points on seven occasions. Holdorf scored a career high 27 points in victories over Tusculum and Voorhees.
