NEWBERRY — The Newberry College athletic communication department and WKDK-AM 1240 have announced the broadcast lineup for this week’s basketball action with the Wolves in the Food Lion SAC Tournament and Newberry High School’s state championship appearance.


March 5


Both the Newberry College men’s and women’s teams are on the road for the quarterfinal round of the Food Lion SAC Tournament.


• The women are the No. 7 seed in the tournament and will play at No. 2 seed Wingate. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. Casey Grogan will have the play-by-play, with pregame starting at 6:55 p.m. This game will only be available online at www.NewberryWolves.com/live.


• The men are the No. 5 seed in the tournament and will play at No. 4 seed Lenoir-Rhyne. Tipoff is set for approximately 8 p.m. Garry Griffith will have the play-by-play, with pregame starting at 7:50 p.m. This game will be available over the air on WKDK-AM 1240 in Newberry County as well as online at www.WKDK.com and [live]www.NewberryWolves.com/live.

Should the Wolves advance to the semifinals of the Food Lion SAC Tournament, all three games involving Newberry teams will be available that day.


• The men’s semifinal is set for Noon Saturday at Furman’s Timmons Arena in Greenville. Garry Griffith would be on play-by-play with action available over the air on WKDK-AM 1240 in Newberry County as well as online at www.WKDK.com and www.NewberryWolves.com/live.


• The Newberry High School boys’ team is making its third straight Class AA state championship game appearance at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia. The Bulldogs are scheduled to take on Lake Marion at 4 p.m. Saturday. Al de la Chica and Jimmie Coggins will have the call available over the air on WKDK-AM 1240 in Newberry County as well as online at www.WKDK.com.


• The women’s semifinal is set for 8 p.m. Saturday at Furman’s Timmons Arena in Greenville. Garry Griffith would be on play-by-play with action available over the air on WKDK-AM 1240 in Newberry County as well as online at www.WKDK.com and www.NewberryWolves.com/live.
