BATESBURG LEESVILLE — Newberry High School moved its trip to Batesburg-Leesville High School up 24 hours due to the impending inclement weather as the Lady Bulldogs got all they would need in the first quarter, 16 points, to win their eleventh straight game of 2014 with a 53-14 victory on Monday.

The Lady Panthers did not make its first point until the 7:06 mark of the second quarter while they would not see their first field shot fall in until there were just four minutes left in the third quarter, at which Newberry had a 41-3 advantage at the time.

Tyshiria Bates scored 13 points in the first three quarters while both Kelsey Felks and Arnasia Boyd scored nine points apiece.

Like Felks, Nigeria Davis also scored in each of the four quarters as she finished with eight points.

Esha Mathis contributed seven points, Fatima Sims added in three while the Newberry scoring ended with the two points apiece of Jalia Perry and Octavia Grandy-Goodman.

Newberry, who improves to 12-8 on the season, with a victory at Mid-Carolina on Thursday would see its third undefeated regional season in the past ten years.
