NEWBERRY — Newberry College head women’s soccer coach Karrie Miller has announced the promotion of Deedee Sanguinetti to the team’s associate head coach.

Sanguinetti just wrapped up her second season at Newberry after serving as assistant coach in 2012 and 2013, helping lead Newberry to back-to-back South Atlantic Conference tournament appearances.

“I’m very excited to be blessed with this title and will continue to work for the college and this program,” Sanguinetti said.

Prior to her time at Newberry, Sanguinetti was an assistant coach for the University of San Diego and saw the Toreros win the West Coast Conference championship during her time on the coaching staff. With Sanguinetti on staff the Toreros reached the Round of 16 in the NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer Championship.

Sanguinetti served as the top assistant for the women’s soccer team and second assistant for the men’s program at Kansas Wesleyan, and in 2010 saw KWU reach the NAIA tournament after winning the KCAC Championship.

A 2006 graduate of Pepperdine, Sanguinetti joined the coaching ranks as she served as a volunteer assistant for Cal-State Northridge post graduation.
